Simple way to open a website with Github

Even not familiar with programming, you’ll get a prototype in 10 minutes!. No need to install anything in your PC.

• Create Github account (This will be used in the URL of your site!).

• Make a new repository, “[your-user-name].github.io”
  • Repository =(almost) folder or directory
  • Not need to modify options. Just input repository name and go forward.

• Click “settings” in the top-right side, scroll down to “Github Pages”, and click “change theme”.

• Choose theme, then click “Select theme”. Click “code” tab to see the whole repository.

• The prototype site is now lauched! Access to “[your-user-name].github.io”.
  • If not accessible, wait for a minute.
• To change the title, click “_config.yml”, and click pencil mark (“Edit this file”). Add the following texts in the textbox:

title: (write the title here)   
description: (write the description here)   

• Then click “Commit file”.
  • commit =(almost) save

• To change the main body, click “index.md”, click pencil mark (“Edit this file”). Edit the main body, change size, list, link etc.following the example. Then click “Commit file”.

• (Extra info 1) Google “markdown” for the detailed rule on the main body editing.

• (Extra info 2) Installing Github desktop and Visual Studio Code will make the editing easier.
